UBT Green Talks - Discussing a healthier, safer and greener future

UBT Green Talks are a project by the University of Bayreuth, in collaboration with the master’s programme Environment, Climate Change and Health, as well as the Centre for Higher Education Teaching and Learning at the University of Bayreuth. The series was initiated by the series’ host Mirna al Masri, research assistant at the Chair for Public & Planetary Health at the University of Bayreuth. Inspired by her studies and the idea of raising awareness about the connections between the environment, climate change, and human health, Mirna came up with the concept for the series, which our production team was more than happy to help her put to action. 

Throughout each episode, Mirna invites experts from the interconnected fields of health science, ecology, biology and more to discuss environmental issues, the connections between climate change and human health, and sustainability. The series also seeks to spark discussion and exchange among students, by listening to their thoughts on the topic and introducing student initiatives that deal with the topics at hand. 

 The series explores the meaning, sources and impacts of environmental concepts and events through dialogue with highly-skilled experts from the field. Each episode seeks to offer solutions to the problems discussed, in order to work toward a safer, healthier and greener future.
